About

Palm Beach County is one of the largest counties in Florida and with nearly 2000 square miles of land and a coastline of approximately 45 miles long there are countless places to see and explore nature.  In this Blog I will be photographically sharing many of the great places and things that can be seen here.

Being primarily a Bird Watcher, many of my postings will be about our fine feathered friends but having spent 1,000’s of hours outdoors I’ve come to appreciate all the plants, insects and mammals that are seen as well.

I am currently doing a Palm Beach County Photographic Big Year.  I’ve posted about it early on so you can read more if you go back to my earliest posts.

This is a new endeavor for me so check back often as I’m sure there is a learning curve!!

Now that I’ve been blogging for a couple of months I’ve also started reading many great blogs.  I try to read as many as I can and comment as much as possible too.

I hope you enjoy following my exploits and thank you for visiting and commenting!

You have a great blog here and your photos are spectacular. Your appreciation for Florida is the type of lifestyle i like most. The crowded beaches and the resorts are not the place for me. Next time i go to Florida i want to visit the wetlands and the natural aspect of the state. Cheers

I love birds… When I was growing up, I raised over 30 of them and they were the light of my life… I lived to bird watch as well… I am hoping to get back into it one day soon – and your beautiful photos are inspiring me. Thank you!

I have seen flocks of 3-4 inch crested birds yesterday landing in the tops of trees in PBG. Pale green chest. Black eye, black beak and throat markings. Cannot find them in books. Here yesterday gone today.

Perhaps black bar or stripe on end of tail feathers. ?????

Great blog. I have just started my own blog focusing on South Florida http://soflobirding.wordpress.com/. I hope we can meet up and share some ideas. I am an avid birder as well. I just moved down to FL from MD so I am getting used to all of the new creatures here. I am glad I found your blog because I was having trouble finding other birders in the area!
