Bobcat … Taken December 2nd 2011 at Green Cay Wetlands

A couple of years ago I wrote about a Bobcat family at our local wetlands.  The mother Bobcat had four babies and we watched three of them as they grew.  The above is one of the babies that made it and yesterday a new family was discovered.  One of the local birders is very, very familiar with all the adult Bobcats around and says the new momma is one of the now three-year olds called “Little”.

"Little" and her three new babies. One of them is aying down in front of her.

These babies are a little older than the last ones we saw.  Their eyes have already changed from the baby blues to their more grown up yellow color.  There were 20-30 people taking pictures as they lazed around.  They had just finished nursing and everyone was very sleepy.

My beautiful wife Terri got this one laying down on top of his sibling!

Momma Bobcat yawning ... I imagine it really tough keeping these three in line!

Yawning can be contagious ... another of Terri's amazing shots!

Nap time was finally getting close to being over and this one decided it was time for a little paly time!

The times when I get to see nature in action … real nature … are just priceless.  Getting to share it with so many others just puts it over the top.  Thank you all for stopping by and I do really appreciate all the recent comments!  God Bless!

About sheriffsmith

I have worked for the Broward County Sheriff's Office the last 13 years and spend most of my free time birdwatching / naturewatching and photographing the birds and nature that I encounter. I believe God has blessed us with a world that is so absolutely fascinating and wonderful and I'm doing my best to discover and show others all that he has provided us with in nature.
