Red-winged Blackbird Babies and a few more Bobkitten Pic’s

Nothing new bird wise today but during the past week I took some fun shots I’d like to share.

What a mouthful of grubs!

This one climbed up the stalk so he could "fly" down to a different perch!

This was the smallest of the babies. RWBB babies usually hatch a day apart so he must have been last one out of the shell!

There were 3 Red-winged Blackbird babies that had left the nest and were holding on tight while the momma came in and fed them.  What was interesting was that a second female was trying to also feed these three and the apparent mother did not want someone else near her kids and was chasing off the “nanny”. The one helping was very persistent and was successful occasionally in getting some food to the babies.

Waiting to pounce!

Having a little fun!

Sharpening my claws!

Wrestling match!

"Limpy" This guys been nursing a sore leg for a month or more. It was nice to see him playing with his siblings!

Last week was also a good one for seeing the Bobcat young.  They are seen most days but usually are not this cooperative for pictures.  Hope you enjoy the pics as much as I did taking them.  Thanks for the visit!

I have worked for the Broward County Sheriff's Office the last 13 years and spend most of my free time birdwatching / naturewatching and photographing the birds and nature that I encounter. I believe God has blessed us with a world that is so absolutely fascinating and wonderful and I'm doing my best to discover and show others all that he has provided us with in nature.

Incredible photos! (okay, the grubs squirming in the little one’s mouth was a bit gross, but fun to see anyway). Loved getting to see the bobcats. Glad they cooperated this time. 🙂
